Covered Bridge Software worked with the Worldwide Assurance for Employees of Public Agencies (WAEPA) to improve the
processing and handling of their numerous paper based forms. By providing online forms, WAEPA was able to obtain
numerous benefits and improvements in the handling and processing of the forms.
WAEPA was formed in 1943 during World War II to provide life insurance coverage for civilian employees of the U.S.
Government who were serving overseas. The original name, War Agencies Employees Protective Association, was changed in
1961 to Worldwide Assurance for Employees of Public Agencies.
Online forms offer the benefit of assisting the user in filling out the forms by:
- Additional instructions (content specific and instantaneous help)
- Real-time form validating (checking for valid information, making sure all required fields are
completed, questions dependent on one another are completed, and other validation issues, etc.)

Online Job Documentation System - University of Maryland, Service Center
The Online Documentation System was a project to convert the manual paper based documentation associated with the computer
programs used by the University of Maryland System for administrative operation.
This documentation consisted of thousands
of documents supporting millions of lines of computer coding.
The documentation was converted into HTML format, indexed and cross-referenced. A powerful search and retrieve function was
built, along with the capability to browse through the documents in a logical and easy way.
Using this web interface, the various University of Maryland Institutions across the state running this software could easily
find and view the required documentation.
The technologies used were HTML, Unix, Searching and Indexing software, and utilities to convert the documentation into HTML format.

Online Meeting Registration - for many different companies
Covered Bridge Software has created numerous online meeting and registration forms for different clients.
The registration process has been automated by allowing the users to view registration information online, complete
the online registration form, enter payment information, and submit the form. The information is then processed, and
the registration database is updated with the user information, and email confirmation notice is sent out - all done without
support staff intervention. This is another example of how electronic forms can be used to improve business efficiency.
